“We have to create–it is the only thing louder than destruction”
-Andrea Gibson.
I’m Shelby Stearns, and I’m The Rocket’s Copy Editor for the 2014-2015 school year. I am pursuing a double major in Middle Level English/Language Arts Education and English – Creative Writing. I have always loved English, language, and grammar, so a position that allows me to correct everyone’s spelling and grammar is absolutely perfect for me!
I am the president of Slam Poetry Club and I love writing and performing poetry. I am involved with The Association for Middle Level Educators and The National Council for Teachers of English. The Rocket is my fourth job on campus. I also work at The Old Stone House as a docent, I’m the lead in charge of the Watson Mailroom, and I am a desk attendant in Watson Hall.
When I’m not red-penning up newspaper pages, I am usually doing something having to do with poetry. However, I also enjoy tweeting, dancing to Ariana Grande, petting dogs, and eating breakfast food at all hours of the day.
I love Slippery Rock, and I am super excited to help The Rocket share its news in the clearest, most grammatical way possible.
