Thursday, September 27, faculty from all colleges and departments gathered in the Smith Student Center ballroom for the annual Majors and Minors Expo. The Office of Career Education and Development was also in attendance, promoting the great on-campus resource for career education needs.
Hosted by Academic Services, the Majors and Minors Expo is a staple event at SRU, aiding exploratory majors in “finding their path” and other students in gaining knowledge about other departments and potential professional pursuits.
Similar to the Student Involvement Fair that took place in the Quad last month, each academic department was set up with a spot in the ballroom and a table to display informational brochures, art pieces, tri-folds and anything else the representatives felt would best promote their department. For instance, the Asian Studies department brought textbooks, an informational poster and paper art pieces representing the cultures the program studies.
“Experience, confidence, know-how. That is what you always get in Career Education,” tweeted John Rindy, director of the Office of Career Education and Development. The office was represented at the event by Ivy Jackson and Brittany Peterson.
