Dan Hyatt, Zach Gose and Joshua Gose impressed representing Slippery Rock at the SPIRE Indoor games Geneva, Ohio.

Hyatt brought home The Rock’s lone NCAA provisional mark, while Zach and Joshua both hit multiple PSAC marks to add to their already impressive season resumes.

Hyatt, a six-time U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Honoree, showed out in the pole vault. The graduate student earned his NCAA provisional mark by clearing 4.85m. The number was good enough for second place at the event.

Zach placed seventh in the weight throw and ninth in the shot put by recording distances of 16.20m and 14.82m respectively. Both numbers were PSAC-qualifying marks. The sophomore is already a four-time PSAC Championship qualifier.

Joshua qualified in the same two events, placing at 12 in weight throw with a 14.69m throw and at 16 in the shot put with a 14.17m distance. The older brother of Zach is a four-time USTFCCCA All-Region Honoree.

Other than Hyatt, the top three finishers were Bryan Dworek, Matthew Crow and Taye Lynch.

Dworek was tied with Hyatt for the highest finish of an SRU men’s athlete at second. His high result came in the long jump where he recorded a 7.05m distance which was also a PSAC mark. The graduate student already has one All-American honor to his name. He has an NCAA championship qualification under his belt.

The long jump was one of The Rock’s most successful showings at the SPIRE games. After Dworek, Ethan Folmer finished ninth and Gavin Thomas finished tenth.

Crow continued his impressive sophomore campaign with a third-place, 8.25 second PSAC-auto 60-meter hurdle run.

Lynch’s third place came in the triple jump where he recorded a 13.87m PSAC mark jump.

Next on the docket for The White and Green are the PSAC Championships starting this upcoming Sunday. The championships will be a two-day event from Sunday to Monday.
