The Rock has officially started on the season at 3-0 after their dominant performance against D’Youville. The Rock controlled the game the whole way throughout in their 11-4 win.

The Rock went up 3-0 within the first six minutes of play, with goals coming from Lauren Searles and Ida Modin. Searles scored her eighth and ninth goals of the season already in just the third game of the season.

Sam Newlin answered back with a goal for D’Youville, but The Rock’s Modin scored her second goal of the first quarter to give Slippery Rock a 4-1 edge going into the second quarter.

The second quarter was all Slippery Rock. Brooke Wisniewski scored two goals, and Rachel Mahoney and Maddie Blazey also added tallies to give The Rock an 8-1 advantage. Madison Handly stopped the bleeding five minutes into the second half, but it did not help much.

Camryn Whipple scored The Rock’s lone goal of the third quarter, before D’Youville scored two more goals. Sydney Gordon and Newlin scored their final goals of the game.

The Rock outshot D’Youville a staggering 41-15 in the game and had 34 shots on goal. Slippery Rock outplayed the Saints in nearly every aspect of the game. They were up just five points heading into the final quarter, however.

The Rock buried two more shots to put the game away. Leora Owings and Mahoney scored the final goals of the game and sealed Slippery Rock’s third victory of the season.

This is the second straight year that Slippery Rock has started the season with three straight wins. Much like last year, their fourth game of the year will come against a ranked opponent. They will be looking to take down Lynn University to continue their undefeated start. This time, they will be doing it in Florida.
