Former Slippery Rock football standout, Cory Tucker, was recently signed by the Cleveland Browns. Tucker originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packers earlier this summer, before being released in June.
Tucker joins 2010 Rock alum, Brandon Fusco, as one of the only two SRU graduates currently on NFL rosters.
Since stepping onto the field after his red-shirt freshman season, Tucker started 48 straight games at right tackle for Slippery Rock and has racked up multiple individual accolades. Following his senior season, Tucker was named to six different All-American teams and finished in third place in the Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award voting.
Tucker reported to Browns training camp earlier this week and will wear number 68 with the Browns. He will be looking to prove himself and earn a spot on either the Browns’ 56-man roster or practice squad for this upcoming season.
