The Slippery Rock women’s tennis team was shut out 0-9 by California University of Pa. Thursday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division match.
The Rock’s overall season record fell to 11-11 after the loss at Cal-U’s courts, and they are now 3-3 in the PSAC-West.
The Vulcans remain undefeated after winning their sixth PSAC West match.
In addition to this accomplishment, Cal-U is the number one team in the Atlantic Region, while Slippery Rock is ranked sixth.
After Thursday’s match, the Vulcans have won their last eleven matches against the Rock since 2004, making the all-time record 14-9.
The Rock played three doubles and six singles matches.
The doubles teams included seniors Nikolina Grbac and Sarah Joumond making up the first team.
Senior Lauren Coggins was paired with freshman Kylee Woodman to make up the second team while sophomore Courtney Gallagher joined freshman Emily Munson to round off the third doubles team.
All six athletes played in the singles matches.
Munson saw her first appearance in a match this spring when she played as the sixth singles player.
The Green and White will travel to Bloomsburg University for the Bloomsburg Dual event where they will play a total of three matches this weekend.
