The Associated Press declared Donald Trump the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election at 5:35 a.m. on Wednesday. Securing Wisconsin’s ten electoral votes gave him the majority in the electoral college. He also won 51% of the popular vote with Kamala Harris taking 47.5%
Wisconsin was one of several battleground states at the center of presidential campaigns. Trump won the state by a slim margin in 2016 but lost it to Joe Biden in 2020.
Pennsylvania experienced a similar flip between red and blue. Trump won the state in 2016, helping him secure victory in the electoral college. Pennsylvania flipped back to blue in 2020. Trump took the state back this year with 50.7% of counted votes.
Butler County leaned Trump with a margin of +33, joining all but 8 Pennsylvania counties in a blanket of red.
Trump gained 19 electoral votes from Pennsylvania and 277 in total.
