October 17 – University Police took a fraud report from an individual at North Hall who met an unknown person on Instagram and sent nude photos of themselves. The unknown person demanded money, or they would post the pictures on social media. The individual did not send any money, and the images were posted on social media.
October 17 – University Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident report at the Boozel Staff parking lot involving a custodial vehicle and a pickup truck parked in the lot. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were drivable.
October 17 – Butler Control called University Police dispatch and requested backup to assist the Pennsylvania State Police at the Dollar General on Route 8 with a possible armed robbery. While University Police were enroute, Butler Control called back and canceled the response. University Police took no further action.
October 17 – Slippery Rock Borough Police arrived on station with a possible DUI motor vehicle operator to use the breath analyzer.
October 18 – University Police responded to a person that said another person hit their car with their door at the West Lake Commuter Lot. Police contacted the other person and exchanged information.
October 19 – University Police received a call for a person who hit another car on Rock Pride Drive. Police located the other person and both parties will exchange information.
October 19 – University Police received a call for three males trying to get into Suite E. The case is currently under investigation.
October 20 – University Police were called to the Equestrian Center for a person who fell off of a horse. Police and EMS responded. The person was taken to the hospital by EMS for further treatment.
October 20 – University Police are investigating possible property damage at the Alumni Pavilion. The case is currently under investigation.
October 21 – PSP requested information about a student named due to a lost wallet. He was given the addresses and phone number available.
October 21 – University Police responded to a report of possible property damage to a motor vehicle’s rear window at East Lake Parking Lot and discovered it was broken. The officer arrived and determined that the damage may have been caused by a foul ball from a baseball game.
October 21 – Butler County Control called dispatch requesting that University Police assist PSP with a motorcycle accident on New Castle Street. Life Flight was en route to the Old Thompson Field to transport the injured person to an emergency facility.
October 22 – University Police responded to a panic alarm activation at the Health Center. The responding officer arrived and spoke to all staff members, who were all okay. The officer was unable to determine the cause. Safety was notified to check the alarm system.
October 23 – PSP called into dispatch, requesting all available University Police respond to Stoughton Road and meet with responding PSP units for a call that they received about shots being fired off Ralston Road. Police arrived, and PSP requested that Centreville Pike and Ralston roadways be shut down. PSP located the individual, and they were taken into PSP custody. Police then opened the roadway to traffic.
October 24 – University Police responded to a possible intoxicated individual who was getting aggressive towards others in a Suite D room. The officer arrived and met with all involved individuals. The officer discovered alcohol, and that the individual had a fake driver’s license on his person. Charges are pending, and the case is under investigation.
October 24 – University Police are investigating a report of fraud from an individual who sent nude photographs of themselves to an unknown person on WhatsApp. The individual is now requesting money, or they will post the photo on social media. The case is currently under investigation.
October 24 – University Police received a call from a staff member at the McKay Education building reporting a group of middle-aged school kids coming up, ringing the doorbell and running away. The responding officers located the individuals, who were all juveniles and are currently under investigation.
October 25 – University Police received a call from an individual stating that they hit another vehicle while backing out of a parking space at the Union Commuter Lot. The officer arrived and attempted to contact the parked vehicle’s owner with negative results. The officer had the driver leave a note on the damaged vehicle to contact them.
October 26 – An individual came to University Police and reported that they hit a pole on Maltby Avenue and knocked it over. Police took a report and requested cost for restitution through the person’s insurance carrier.
October 26 – University Police were called for a person passed out on a bench on Field House Road. Person was taken to the hospital by ambulance for intoxication.
October 27 – Police are investigating a report of property damage to their vehicle at the B&G Gravel Commuter Lot.
October 27 – University Police are investigating a report of a vehicle backing into another who left the scene without giving information at Rock Pride Drive.
October 29 – University Police received a report that a vehicle backing out of a parking space at the Alumni Commuter Lot hit two other vehicles in the lot. The officer was unable to contact one of the vehicle operators, and the case is currently under investigation.
October 29 – University Police received a call about a vehicle with a broken back window at the Union Commuter Lot. The responding officer arrived and met with the car’s owner. The case is currently under investigation.
October 30 – University Police received a few calls about an animal inside a car at the Alumni Commuter Lot. The car was checked, the animal had food and water inside the car and the windows were open for ventilation. The animal was fine, no other action was taken by police.
October 30 – University Police, while finishing up a call, heard a person screaming in North Hall. Police checked on the person and discovered it was a roommate disagreement. The officer gave them resources after calming the person down.
October 30 – University Police noticed people in Old Main when it was supposed to be closed. Police located the individuals and had them leave the building. The building was secured upon leaving the area.
