Police blotter 9/6/24

August 20 – University Police received a report of an intoxicated individual who was lying on the sidewalk along Kiester Road. Upon University Police’s arrival, the individual attempted to get up but fell down the hillside. EMS was dispatched and arrived on the scene. The individual was transported to Grove City Hospital and was issued a citation for public drunkenness.

August 21 – An individual filed a report of harassment by a coworker at Boozel Dining Hall with University Police. The incident is currently under investigation.

August 22 – University Police received a complaint that an unknown person(s) stole the caller’s belongings while they were moving into their dorm room in Building D. The officer was later notified that the caller’s belongings were misplaced and recovered, rather than being stolen.

August 22 – Butler County Sheriffs requested University Police and Slippery Rock Police Department (SRPD) assist with serving a warrant at the Heights Apartments. The person was not located, and University Police took no further action.

August 23 – SRPD requested University Police assist with a traffic stop on East Water Street including multiple occupants and a possibly intoxicated driver. University Police arrived, identified the passengers and stood by until they were able to be picked up from the traffic stop.

August 24 – Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) contacted University Police to respond to a crash at the Grove after a person fled the scene on Harmony Road. On arrival, University Police located the driver and transported them back to the station for process of DUI.

August 26 – PSP requested University Police respond to a mother/son domestic situation. University Police arrived on the scene and located the individual who refused to speak to the officers. PSP arrived and took over the investigation.

August 26 – University Police received a report of sexual assault that occurred on August 23 in Rhoads Hall. The case is under investigation.

August 28 – University Police responded to a suspicious person at the Harrisville Building. The person walked up to the main entrance and spoke to staff personnel. The person made no threats but stated he was a student “a very long time ago.” When the officers arrived and checked the area the person was gone on arrival.

August 30 – University Police received a call stating their friend was “being cornered by their boyfriend.” The responding officer located the individual who told the officer they were afraid of how their boyfriend was driving his vehicle. The driver stopped and the girlfriend exited the car stating she was not harmed and requested the officer take her back to her residence. The case was referred to Student Standards.

August 31 – PSP requested University Police administer the Datamaster breath analyzer on an individual at the University Police building.

August 31 – University Police were called by a CA for an alcohol violation in Building B. Citations were issued.

August 31 – University Police were called again by a CA for an alcohol violation in Building B. Citations were issued.

September 1 – University Police assisted SRPD with a traffic stop on School Drive.

September 1 – University Police were called by a CA for an alcohol violation in Building B. Citations were issued.

September 2 – PSP contacted University Police to be on lookout for a vehicle possibly containing an armed person. The vehicle was stopped and the person taken into custody.

September 2 – University Police were a called for a home invasion from unknown person(s) on Campus Side Apartments. Police checked the apartment and found that the others inside the house were the caller’s roommates. No further action was taken.

September 3 – University Police received a call from a CA reporting an individual was “being aggressive and chatting with someone on their phone.” The officer arrived and spoke to the individual who was upset with events that transpired earlier that day. The officer stayed with the individual until they calmed down.

September 3 – University Police responded to a complaint about a group of individuals smoking marijuana at the bus stop area along Rock Pride Drive. Officers arrive and spoke to the individuals and drugs were found. Charges were filed.

September 4 – PSP requested University Police assist with two females fighting on the first floor of University Village. University Police and SRPD arrived on the scene but the individuals had left the area. PSP arrived and took over the investigation.

September 5 – PSP advised University Police dispatch that they received information regarding a Snapchat post “threatening the campus community.” University Police were able to identify and locate the individual in Building F. The person stated they were “having family problems,” which influenced their decision to make the post. The officers checked the individual, their room and vehicle. Nothing was found and the incident was referred to Student Standards.

September 5 – SRPD were at the University Police station to pass on information about an individual who made “irrational statements” to staff workers at Sheetz. The individual left Sheetz on a bicycle and an image was sent to University Police.

September 6 – University Police were called to an accident at West Lake Commuter Lot. The officer arrived and spoke to both vehicle operators. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were drivable. Both individuals exchanged required information.
