March 7 – Police were dispatched for a theft of a wallet after an unknown person entered a person’s office in Dinger Building and removed a wallet from their purse. While the officer was with the victim, a person went to the police station with the victim’s wallet that was found near the Slippery Rock Post Office. All items were in the wallet except for currency that the person had in it. The case is under investigation.

March 7 – Police were dispatched for an individual who fell and hurt their ankle at the Aebersold Recreation Center. The person refused medical treatment and was picked up by their parents. No further action was taken by police.

March 8 – Police were dispatched to Old Main for an intruder alarm. The alarm was set off by housekeeping, and the alarm panel was unable to be reset. Health and Safety was notified.

March 8 – Police responded for a fire alarm activation in Swope Music Building. The alarm was caused by an individual who had accidentally set off a pull station. Health and Safety reset the alarm.

March 8 – Police received a call from a graduate assistant in North Hall that an alarm was sounding in the building. The alarm was not active at the police station simplex system. The alarm was an accidental trip on the second floor, and the panel in the building was reset.

March 11 – Police responded for an intruder alarm activation at the Fowler Building. No one was in the building, and alarm appeared to be a malfunction. Health and Safety was notified.

March 11 – Police responded for an intruder alarm activation at the Ski Lodge. The officer found housekeeping in the building. The person stated that they entered the code in the alarm panel upon entering the building. This appeared to be a malfunction in the system.

March 12 – A person went to the police station report a theft of a pair of headphones. The officer reviewed the camera system. An unknown person took the headphones to building staff personnel who placed the headphones in the lost and found. The item was retrieved, and police took no further action.

March 15 – Police requested an ambulance to Morrow Field House for a medical condition. The person refused transport to the hospital.

March 16 – Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief and theft reported at Building E.

March 17 – Jaclyn Majcher, 20, was cited with an alcohol violation.

March 18 – Health Center requested an ambulance for a person who was in need of medical attention. Dispatch called Butler Control and ambulance personnel to transport the person to Grove City Medical Center.

March 18 – Police received a call from a person who saw that the ashtray outside Spotts World Culture Building and Physical Therapy Building was smoking. Health and Safety was notified and responded. Police took no further action.

March 18 – Police were dispatched to Watson Hall for a loud music complaint. When officers arrived, they found music was actually coming from Building E. Officers made contact with the individual and advised to turn down the music. David Burd, 18, was cited with disorderly conduct.

March 19 – Police received a call from a community assistant in Building A who said water was leaking from a room on the second floor and coming into the hallway. Police on scene were unable to turn off the water, and water was coming through a roof on the first floor. Maintenance was notified and responded. Police took no further action.

March 19 – Police were dispatched for a traffic accident by Morrow Field House. A vehicle was backing out of a parking space and struck a vehicle in the lane of travel. Both parties stated that they were not injured, both vehicles were drivable and information was exchanged. This was a non-reportable accident.

March 20 – Slippery Rock Borough Police requested assistance with an individual who had overdosed at the car wash on Grove City Road. EMS administered Naloxone to the person. The person refused further medical treatment. Borough police took custody of the individual.

March 20 – Police were dispatched for possible gunshots behind Buildings A and B in the wooded area. University and borough police both checked the area. Police spoke to a person by Rocky’s Grill who stated they did not hear anything. The incident was unfounded.

Hannah is a senior secondary English education major and communication minor entering her third year on The Rocket staff and her second year as editor-in-chief. Previously, she served as assistant news editor and covered Student Government Association affairs. After graduation, she hopes to teach English, communications and journalism to high school students. Hannah has won numerous awards for her writing and design work with The Rocket and was named SRU's Student Leader of the Year in 2020. Outside of The Rocket, Hannah is also part of WSRU-TV, Sigma Tau Delta and the Honors College.
