Dunkin’ Grand Opening!!!!!

Dunkin’ had its grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at their new location on Main Street in Slippery Rock on Monday morning.
There was a large crowd in attendance to welcome Heartland Restaurant group’s 55th Western Pennsylvania location.
Mayor Jondavid Longo said that this is the tenth business to open in Slippery Rock since January 2018 when he took office.
“I feel fantastic standing here in Dunkin’ today,” Longo said. “I can remember almost ten years ago waiting to get in line when this place was Sheetz.”
He said he is happy that there are some new choices in Slippery Rock.
“More than anything, I am excited for what I have been told to be 48 jobs just in this location alone, and that is 48 new jobs for Slippery Rock,” Longo said.
Zach Veith, the general manager at the Slippery Rock Dunkin’, said he wishes he had a Dunkin’ when he went to school here.
“I went to school at Slippery Rock, so I am excited to bring a Dunkin’ to the community,” Veith said. “Dunkin’ has been lacking in this area for a while, so to bring a Dunkin’ to where college kids can come and get their morning coffee is awesome.”
Veith said people have been knocking down their door for the past week waiting for their location to open.
This Dunkin’ location has a modern design, in-store innovations, a “ground-breaking” cold beverage tap system, video queue displays and a more efficient pick up area for on-the-go mobile orders.
Everyone who visited Dunkin’ on January 27th had the opportunity to enter to win free coffee for a month and the first 100 customers received a free Dunkin’ travel mug.
Students seemed to have positive reactions to hearing about Dunkin’ opening.
“I am excited because Slippery Rock needs more establishments that we can go and experience different types of food and drinks and I appreciate it,” Hannah McDermott said.
Another student, Nicolette Pierce, who works at her Dunkin’ back home said that Starbucks was the only option for a while, so she enjoys seeing something new.
“This will open a lot of job opportunities for students,” Pierce said.
Dunkin’ is located on 304 South Main Street.
